Whose Son Is He? What Is His Name?

How Did GOD Make Provision for Sin?

Scripture References

The Cross

When the King of the Jews came to earth to give His life a ransom for many.

Our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin. (Romans 6:6-7)

And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. (1 John 3:5)

The Garden of Eden

When GOD killed an animal for a sin sacrifice in the Garden of Eden. This represented His promise to redeem man by offering Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for sin.

The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. Then the Lord God said, Behold, the man has become like one of US, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever. (Genesis 3:21-22)

The Creation of Adam and Eve

When God created Adam and pulled Eve out of Adam, He knew that Adam would be rebellious and sin, and that you and I would be sinners. So it could have been that, thousands and thousands of years ago, God made provision for our sin in the Garden of Eden. By separating Eve from Adam before the Fall, He protected part of that female DNA so a Savior (the Seed of a woman) could be born of a virgin, and therefore, have no sin nature.

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)

So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man (Adam), and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The Lord God fashioned into a woman (Eve) the rib that He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. (Genesis 2:21-22)

And I will put enmity between you (the serpent) and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel. (Genesis 3:15)

The Eternal Counsel of GOD

When, in the eternal state [before time], a decision was decreed mutually and individually by the Eternal Counsel of GOD the Father, GOD the Word (the Son), and GOD the Holy Spirit, that the Word was to become flesh. The Godhead was fully aware that sin was going to come in and disrupt the universe. God decided that He would take that penalty upon Himself (the second Person of the Godhead would be the One to make that trip), and He would die as a substitute.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. (John 1:1-2, 14)

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son. (Galatians 4:4)

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship Him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8)
