1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 The Day of the Lord: “Peace and Safety”

1 Thessalonians 1:10 To wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

Isaiah 13:6  Wail, for the day of the LORD is near!  It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

Isaiah 13:10 The sun will be dark when it rises and the moon will not shed its light.

Joel 2:1 Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming;

Joel 2:2 A day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness.

Amos 5:20 The day of the LORD will be darkness instead of light, Even gloom with no brightness in it

1 Thessalonians 5:1 Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.

Matthew 24:4-7 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.

For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.

6 You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.

7 "For nation will rise against nation people group will rise against people group, and kingdom against kingdom nation against nation,

and in various diverse places there will be famines and earthquakes. “

1 Thessalonians 5:3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction unraveling will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.

Revelation 12:13-14 And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.  But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction unraveling will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.

4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief;

Philippians 2:16 Holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory

Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:7-8 So that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,  who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;

6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober calm.

Ezekiel 8:7-9 Then He brought me to the entrance of the court, and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall. He said to me, "Son of man, now dig crawl through the wall." So I dug crawled through the wall, and behold, an entrance.  And He said to me, "Go in and see the wicked abominations that they are committing here."

8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober alert, having put on the breastplate shield of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope certainty of salvation.

9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation deliverance through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.
