Hebrews Chapters 1-4 Learning to Listen
Hebrews 1:1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
2 in these
last days has spoken to us in His Son Sonship
3 When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Isaiah 30:21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
Hebrews 2:1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.
3 How will
we escape if we neglect so great a salvation deliverance?
7 You have made him for a little while lower than the angels ; You have crowned him with glory and honor , And have appointed him over the works of Your hands ;
8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet .
9 We see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus...
10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.
Hebrews
5:8 He learned obedience to listen from the things which He suffered.
2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
1 John 3:5 in Him there is no sin
Isaiah 50:4 He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
5 The Lord
God has opened My ear; and I was not disobedient (literally “I was not
not listening” i.e., “I was listening”
Hebrews 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.
11
Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall,
through following the same example of disobedience if we follow the
same example of failure to listen.
16
Therefore let us draw near with confidence we come boldly to the throne
of grace, so that we may will receive mercy and find grace to help in
time of need for timely help.
