 Sermon on the Mount:  Spiritually Bankrupt & Perfect

Revelation 3:1 "To the angel of the church in Sardis write:  He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: '” know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.”

Romans 7:7  I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, "You shall not covet."

1 Timothy1:8  But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully,

1 Timothy 1:9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers

Romans 3:21   But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested

But now a righteousness apart from Law has been manifested

Romans 7:5…the sinful passions, which were aroused stirred up by the Law

Romans 7:8 Sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind

Matthew 5:40 If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ

Romans 7:18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not

but the ability to do the good is not.

Romans 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?
